Esther Chan is a seasoned fashion designer and industrial designer with over 13 years of design and manufacturing experience across various industries, including fashion, furniture, consumer electronics and medical. As a designer with a strong interest and sensitivity in business, she enjoys the challenge of creating products that are as profitable for the stake holders as they are well thought-out for the end users.

Fashion Design

Esther’s is currently the Head of Design & Production development for the kid’s brand Heart & Arrow in Los Angeles. She has also designed for other kids, junior & young contemporary private labels, with experience across business development, domestic and international production, and fashion graphics.

Pistachio Playground

In 2019, she launched her own design studio, Pistachio Playground, taking on commissioned projects in branding, illustrations, interior and furniture design. In the same year she launched the online retailer www.PistachioPlayground.shop which specializes in its original line of powder-coated houseplant trellises.

Industrial Design

Prior to founding Pistachio Playground, Esther was the Design Lead at MASHstudios, where she designed custom branded furniture for prominent Bay Area and PNW Fortune 500 companies, including Nike, Google, Facebook and Twitter, as well as MASHstudios’ own home furniture line LAXseries. She also served as a training manager, mentoring a total of 9 junior designers during her tenure.
